The
bottle of Radium shown here has never been opened. The Radium product line was
introduced with the belief that irradiating the beer would be the perfect
pasteurization process.
In
the close up on the right side of the page you can see that this beer was
bottled on 4-29-1914. This is the earliest example of freshness dating known.
You can see that this freshness dating was not done with actual printing but
rather with holes being punched in the label that informed the customer as to
the date at which the beer was bottled. |
